Why I Want to be the Next Mamavation Mom (Tweets Needed)

The quality of this video isn’t the best (it’s a bit fuzzy) but my words come from the heart.

How You Can Help

I am applying to be one of the next Mamavation Moms. You can help me become the next Mamavation Mom by writing the following tweet: “Hey @bookieboo! I want @createabalance to be the next #Mamavation Mom. She has my support!

My Story

I love being part of the Mamavation Sistahood. I love the opportunity to write a weekly blog post about my journey to fitness.

For the past eight weeks I have been writing about my fitness goals. I’ve been working towards my goal of getting healthy and fit. Over the past 8 weeks I have significantly increased the amount of water I drink and the number of fruits and vegetables I eat. I feel very confident in saying that water, fruits, and vegetables have become a regular part of my daily routine. Unfortunately, working out has not become part of my regular routine. Two weeks ago I faced the hard truth that I was only trying to lose weight, only trying to eat healthy, and only trying to exercise. I was realized I was trying but I wasn’t committed.

Sometimes I think “Hey, I’m a life coach. This shouldn’t be so hard. Can’t I just coach myself into exercising?”

But it is hard.

Last night, during the weekly Mamavation TV show, Amy Dixon reminded me that it is supposed to be hard. She told me (and everyone else) that for me to re-package my body and to get the results I want, I’d have to work hard and I’d have to endure hard workouts. With a smile, she told us there was a reason the word work is in the word workout.

And so, last night, after the Mamavation TV show, I had another huge ah-ha moment. I found my truth and didn’t like what I saw. I found my truth and acknowledged I want to change.

My truth: I have been more committed to relaxation and short-term satisfaction than to hard work and long-term satisfaction. Both my eating and my lack of exercising are the only data points I need to recognize this is true.

But I’m not giving up.

I know I can make changes in my life and refocus my commitment. I also know I need help and a serious support structure to help me reach my goals.

Leah, if you are reading this, I want to be one of the next Mamavation Moms so I can fully take advantage of the support structure you have created. I want to shed myself from these old commitments that no longer serve me. I want this to be the time in my life when I finally commit to being healthy and fit. I want to participate in the Mamavation boot camp to jump start this fundamental change.

More about the Mamavation application process:

1. Applications will be accepted from March 22nd to April 1st

Go for it, Stacey! It is great that you have identified what is stopping you from achieving your fitness goals! Going down to the root negative cause can certainly help in a breakthrough! All the best towards winning the Mamavation Mom!

Sometimes I think you need MORE support if you only have 10 pounds or so to lose because it is so hard to get off. So I think being a Mamavation Mom can definitely help you in that area, and it increased my energy a TON! Glad to see that you put the video together and applied. :-)

The support of the Sistahood is amazing, isn’t it? I probably would have given up already if it wasn’t for all the encouragement and the friendships.

You are so right about exercise becoming a habit. I think this is only the 2nd time in my life where it has been a habit for me. The other time, I was in college and lost 50 lbs in a year. Unfortunately, that was a long time ago!

You can do it, Stacey! I’m cheering you on!!

Everyone – Thank you for your support!

Evelyn – Know I have to move from awareness into action.

Leah @Bookieboo – Thanks again for creating such an amazing community of moms.

Katie @ Frugal Femina – These last 10 pounds have been harder to lose than the first 75 pounds. I’m hoping to be the next Mamavation Mom to show others it is possible to lose those last ten pounds.

Heather @ Not a DIY Life – Yes, the support of the Sistahood is amazing.
