Successes
I had an amazing week!
- I worked out 5 days this week – Two 30 minute power walks and three days of the EA Sports Active 30 day challenge.
- I connected with amazing Mamavation sistas for support. Thank you @JustTracyB at Just Tracy B and @PaigeBayer at Canning with Kids.
- I lost 1.8 pounds this week!

Challenges
My biggest challenge this week was running out of healthy food choices in the middle of the week. Now that I’m eating so many fresh fruits & veges, I’m realizing I need to go shopping twice a week to refill my healthy snack options.
Mamavation Monday is Going Green
The current Mamavation Mom campaign is going green, which means in addition to eating healthy and working out, I will also be implementing green friendly choices into my daily life for myself and for my family.
Where to start? I started by reading the free book I received as part of the SV Moms Group book club – Green Guide Families: The Complete Reference for Eco-Friendly Parents. Chapter 3 focuses on green foods and eating right for the planet. Here are some green mamavation tips I found in the book…
- Eat products from animals that were raised on natural diets with add growth hormones or antibiotics.
- Eat more organic produce free of artificial pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.
- When shopping for food, bring your own reusable bags.
- If you don’t buy organic milk, look for milk brands that pledge to buy their milk from dairies that do not use bovine growth hormone.
- Eat local food. Shipping food around the planet generates a lot of greenhouse gas admissions.
- Use a safe reusable bottle when drinking water. Plastic water bottles are wasteful and unhealthy chemicals such as bisphenol A can migrate from some types of plastic bottles to the water.

Stacey – You’re beating me!!! Darn you!!! That’s OK, I am going to kick butt this week, so I’m gonna catch you if you’re not careful! The Green Guide Families pick for SVMOMS this month was awesome. I found it to be a great resource as well.
