Mamavation Monday – 04/05/2010 (Cameo Appearance by @bookieboo)

<I’m playing around with the name of my blog again. What do you think?>

Where It All Started…

I first met Leah (@bookieboo) at the 2009 TypeaMom Conference when I was vlogging about life balance. She was kind enough to give me her 20 second secret to life balance. I knew I wanted to be part of the Mamavation sistahood ever since I met Leah at TypeaMom.

My Week – Considering it was Passover and that I was not selected to be one of the top Mamavation finalists, I actually had a  great week. My family and I were visiting our extended family in Michigan, which means lots of food everywhere I went last week. But with the warmer weather and the not so very appealing Passover food, I spent a lot of time exercising outside and eating a lot of fruits and vegetables (instead of gefilte fish and brisket).

Results – As a result, I lost 2.2 pounds last week!

The Next Mamavation Campaign – I was pretty down and out that I was not selected to be one of the top 5 Mamavation Moms this morning. I really wanted to be one of the next Mamavation Moms. I thrive when I’m thrown into the deep end with a difficult challenge and was hoping to receive that kind of powerful hands-on accountability.  I told @bookieboo last week that I’m ready to get fit, that I won’t give up, and that I’ll fight my inner sabotaging voice to reach my results while inspiring other moms to work hard, eat healthy, and get moving. I still plan on doing this even though I won’t be the next Mamavation Mom.

I have a lot of hard work ahead of me to get fit. I want to get fit so I can be a role model for my children. I don’t want my children to continue to ask me why I have such a fat stomach. I want healthy eating and exercise to be mainstream in their lives. I want to get fit so friends and strangers stop asking me on a regular basis if I’m pregnant (yes, I still look pregnant). I may not be the next Mamavation Mom, but I am a Mamavation sista so I can live the life I’m suppose to live – someone who takes care of herself while inspiring others to do the same.

This Week’s Goals – My goals are to continue to make healthy eating choices and to workout 5 times.
